Glamorous Directing

October 16, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The brunette beauties, Courtney Cox and Demi Moore, have kicked off their directing careers. According to In Touch Weekly Magazine, both ladies participated in Glamour Magazine’s  “annual Reel Moments event.” It was hosted for women to “adapt and direct films” on stories by the magazine readers. This was the first time either had ever directed, and it was a great success. This could be the start of a new interest and career as In Touch Weekly reported that Cox “would do it again in a heartbeat.” Moore described the experience as “a tremendous gift to have the opportunity to direct.”

I think it’s great the way the press is revealing the actress’ desire and positive feedback on their directing experiences. Courtney Cox and Demi Moore’s energy and excitement are  great tools to get the public interested in their work. It is not everyday that you hear about a prestigious female director. Therefore, as their publicist, I would try to get them maximum coverage from popular female media outlets like the Ellen DeGeneres Show or The View. If these talk shows provide awareness and attention, then their chances of being successful in another film will be much higher.

Any woman would enjoy supporting the films especially since the directors were motivated by an event designed by Glamour. The films are also based off of reality which women would be able to connect with and enjoy watching. Once they have received enough attention and press on these short pieces, they will be strong enough to start directing masterpieces on their own. The publicist’s job is simple: by promoting Cox and Moore’s positive attitudes and making women’s directing appealing, there will be a significant change and appreciation to our female’s Hollywood directing industry.
