Access Hollywood

“Beverly Hills 90210″ actress’ too skinny? How could that be? I thought all celebrities had responsible trainers and nutritionists. Apparently, the anorexic thinness is not in style. The CW actresses, Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup, are being criticized for being too thin.  According to US Weekly magazine, “Stroup is 5-foot-8 but weighs 100 to 105 pounds,” and “Grimes is 5-foot-3 and stands at a mere 90 pounds.” Even their male costars think it is problematic and unattractive. In an era where everyone strives to look their thinnest and like pop-stars, it says a lot when the producers of the show are worried about something other than their ratings.

There are rumors that the girls have never been seen eating, but costar, AnnaLynne McCord, reports to “Access Hollywood” that “we eat in each others trailers and I’ve seen them enjoy pork chops…” The article even says that their representatives had no comment. Now what kind of publicists do they have working for them when they cannot even come up with some clever explanation?

As their publicist, I would make sure the reporters and paparazzi took snapshots of the girls eating outside the show. Dinning with friends or grabbing a Pinkberry after work would be a great solution to prove they are fighting the rumors.  They need to prevent photographs of them in mini outfits that highlight their bones and thinness. The publicist could also show the two celebrities at a charity event or helping out the public to divert attention away from their weight. If they are seen helping out the community, then the public will start talking about that and not be obsessive over their weight situation.

Also, Shenae did a horrible job of defending herself by saying that she “shakes it off.” She should have described the hard working hours and late nights on set. Stress and busy schedules definitely are excuses for eating less and losing weight. Blaming her weight loss on her atmosphere would have been more acceptable. She should explain that she has not had enough time to balance her health habits and that she is working on it now that the season has aired.

In the mean time, girls, try to eat some food. At least start munching on carrots for a source of Vitamin A. You’ve made your point that you can be the skinniest and make it onto covers of magazines, but lets be serious and get healthy.
